There are many citation guides available to assist with citing sources correctly. In academic writing every idea, quotation, adoption of a theory or image used in a paper must be appropriately cited to avoid plagiarism.
For this course, students have been asked to use the Chicago Manual of Style , which uses a bibliography and footnote format for academic citations.
How to use Chicago Manual of Style for:
Author (last name first). Date. Title (Italics). Publisher`s location. Publisher.
ex. Morford, M.P.O, R.J. Lenardon and M. Sham. 2011. Classical Mythology (9th edition) New York: Oxford university Press.
Image:
Artist (last name first). Title (Italics). Date. From (scholarly or web-based source). Medium. Institutional location (museum or gallery), geographical location (city).
ex. Da Vinci, Leonardo. Mona Lisa. 1503-1506. Oil on wood. Louvre, Paris.
